Your journey into wonder begins here. Enjoy an overnight stay in Bucharest.

Day 2

Bucharest > Braila (B,L,D)
Today you’ll leave Bucharest behind and transfer to a Scenic Space-Ship where you’ll be personally welcomed by your friendly dedicated staff. Relax and raise your glass to the days ahead at this evening’s welcome reception.

Day 3
|
Tulcea (B,L,D)
Embark on a small boat exploration of Tulcea and the surrounding Danube canals, home to Europe’s largest white pelican colony (weather permitting).

Day 4
|
Saint George (B,L,D)
The World Heritage-listed Danube Delta is the best preserved of Europe’s deltas and hosts over 300 species of birds. Be sure to have your camera ready as you sail through the passage of Saint George and the magnificent Danube Delta, to reach the Black Sea coast. Admire spectacular scenery during your small boats cruise to mile 0, where the mighty Danube River meets the Black Sea (weather permitting).

Silistra (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Discover the Silistra fort during an active walking tour, or journey to the nearby local village, where you’ll visit the primary school and discover a few wonderful insights into daily life in Bulgaria.

Day 6

Rousse > Nikopol (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Take a full day excursion to Veliko Tarnovo, a town with a rich historical past. In the 14th century as the Byzantine Empire weakened, the town was the Bulgarian capital and known as the third Rome. You’ll also visit the leafy village of Arbanassi, which is included in World Heritage list of valuable cultural sites. Or enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Rousse.

Relax on board and admire the scenery as you cruise the spectacular Iron Gate, a narrow gorge that the Danube has carved out between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains.

Belgrade (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Enjoy a guided bicycle ride along the Danube, or taste your way around the local market on our Shop with a Chef tour. Or for some true insight into local life, you can join a walking tour of the city with a local. Alternatively, journey to Sremski Karlovci, where you can wander the town with our experts and marvel at the many beautiful Baroque elements. Sunset Drinks Raise a toast to the end of a wonderful day, it’s a moment to savour, and a chance to reflect on all you’ve seen and experienced. Enjoy tonight’s magnificent Serbian folklore performance on board your Scenic Space-Ship.

Today you’ll discover one of the oldest capital cities in Europe – Belgrade, a city that has always had a huge impact on the entire region. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in your own time.

Day 10

Osijek (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Explore Osijek on a guided city tour, or try your hand at fishing in a local village stream. Or, if you’re the more active type, you could opt to take a blissful guided bike ride through Osijek’s countryside. Enrich As a special Scenic guest, you’ll be invited into the home of a local family for a traditional home-cooked dinner and the chance to discover what everyday life is really like in Croatia. With great food and wonderful company, this will be both a magnificent meal, and a rare opportunity for one-on-one contact with people who understand the local way of life intimately. Enjoy.

Freechoice: Discover the Zsolnay ceramic museum, where you’ll visit the main exhibition areas and see the pink tiles this museum is famous for, some of which can be found on St Mattias Church in Budapest. Alternatively, explore the village of Villány and learn about everyday life in Hungary, while sampling some of the fine local wines.

Today you’ll get to witness a traditional Hungarian horse show.

Day 13

Budapest (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Join a guided tour through a city often considered the most beautiful in Europe. Alternatively, choose to relax at the Thermal Baths and Spa, or brave the labyrinths of the Hospital in the Rock. Freechoice: Explore beautiful Bratislava with a knowledgeable local guide and discover all that this majestic city has to offer. Alternatively, discover Bratislava’s communist-era history during a guided tour. Or journey to the nearby Devin Castle where you’ll have an opportunity to tour the castle’s ruins and sample some of the local speciality, the Devin’s currant wine.

Vienna (B,L,D)
Freechoice: Tour the city of Vienna, or be guided through majestic Schönbrunn Palace. Alternatively, visit the world-renowned Spanish Riding School and either tour the stables or see the Lipizzaner Stallions perfecting their skills during their morning exercise program.

After breakfast, prepare to head home. It may be the end of your cruise, but there’ll still be many wonderful memories to look forward to.
