Day 1 Christchurch (D)

Kia ora and welcome to Christchurch for a two night stay. The wonder of New Zealand begins here. Celebrate the start of your journey with a welcome dinner.

Please book your flight to arrive into Christchurch prior to 05:00 PM.

Day 2 Christchurch (B)

Freechoice: Go punting on the Avon River, take a Botanic Gardens Tour or a city tour of Christchurch. Alternatively, visit the seaside town of Akaroa or the International Antarctic Centre – the choice is yours.

Day 3 Christchurch > Franz Josef (B,D)

Join the TranzAlpine this morning for your rail journey across the Southern Alps. Visit the home of New Zealand’s native greenstone, Hokitika. Stand in wonder at Franz Josef Glacier with its ever-changing face before your overnight stay.

Optional flight - Take a helicopter flight over Franz Josef or Fox Glacier and experience the wonder of a landing in this natural alpine landscape (additional expense, please book prior to departure).

Day 4 Franz Josef > Queenstown (B)

Enjoy a ride on the Haast River Jet boat before you arrive in Queenstown for your two night stay.

Day 5 Queenstown (B,D)

Freechoice: Wilderness and adventure beckon on the Dart River, or enjoy a guided tour of local wineries. Alternatively, feel exhilarated on the Shotover Jet, take a 4WD Safari of the Scenes tour exploring ‘The Lord of the Rings’ filming locations, opt for a guided tour through Skippers Canyon or take a scenic ride in the iconic Skyline Gondola and take in the stunning views.

Freechoice Dining: Take a steamship cruise on TSS Earnslaw and enjoy dinner at Walter Peak, dine at the Boardwalk restaurant located in one of Queenstown’s most iconic waterfront sites, or enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 6 Queenstown >Te Anau (B,D)

In the darkness of the Te Anau caves, see the shimmer of thousands of glow-worms.

Experience a special screening of ‘Ata Whenua – Shadowland’. Also known as ‘Fiordland on Film’, this short movie takes you on an unforgettable journey over the World Heritage-listed wilderness.

Your base for your two night stay is Te Anau.

Day 7 Te Anau (B,L)

Travel to Fiordland National Park to witness the spectacular beauty of Milford Sound. Stand in awe of the towering cliffs, peaks and waterfalls.

Tonight enjoy a drink at your hotel as you watch the sunset.

Day 8 Te Anau > Mount Cook (B,D)

See the fertile, sheep-filled farming land of Central Otago en route before soaking up the alpine landscape of Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Enjoy an overnight stay at Mount Cook.

Day 9 Mount Cook > Christchurch (B)

Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo. Travel through the patchwork countryside of the Canterbury Plains before arriving back in Christchurch for an overnight stay.

Day 10 Christchurch > Wellington (B,D)

Drive along the spectacular East Coast where rugged mountains meet the ocean. Travel in the ferry’s premium lounge across the Marlborough Sounds to start your discovery of the North Island. Discover the nation’s capital city Wellington with your two night stay.

This afternoon take an in-depth journey of Te Papa to discover the treasures and stories of New Zealand’s land and people.  

Day 12 Wellington > Rotorua (B)

Visit the magnificent Lake Taupo and then experience the force of nature at Huka Falls. Continue to Rotorua for your two night stay.

Day 13 Rotorua (B,D)

Be amazed by Rotorua’s geothermal activity during a visit to Te Puia.

Freechoice: Take an amphibious duck tour of Rotorua’s city and lakes or relax in the geothermal pools. Alternatively, take a nature discovery treewalk or enjoy wine-tasting and the skyline gondola.

Day 14 Rotorua > Auckland (B,L,D)

This morning visit the National Kiwi Trust. Enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills and farmlands of the Waikato region. Visit the Hobbiton™ Movie Set before arriving in the ‘City of Sails’, Auckland this afternoon for your two night stay.

Later, look forward to your dinner at the Orbit 360 Restaurant at Sky City.

Day 15 Auckland (B,D)

Freechoice: Sail on an authentic America’s Cup yacht or explore the wine and cuisine of Waiheke Island. Discover the black sand beaches of the West Coast or join a small group sightseeing tour of Auckland. Alternatively, visit Auckland’s latest attractions the Weta Workshop Unleashed and the All Blacks Experience.

Tonight, enjoy your farewell dinner at the Hotel Restaurant.

Day 16 Auckland (B)
